Well clearly I'm a very bad blogger, but I love reading other peoples blogs so I decided maybe I should do my own! Not much has been going on in our lives Korry is still working full time at Sprint and going to school full time for Respiratory Therapy. I work at Adele Young Intermediate, I am and aide in the emotionally disturbed/behavior unit. So now that I've gotten that out of the way let me just talk about the important stuff......BROOKLYN. What can I say about her other than she is just the cutest thing in the whole world! She has brought so much joy into mine and Korry's lives that I cant even believe it! She turned 6 months old today! I don't know where the time has gone, but I have enjoyed every minute of it. Here are some of the things shes doing :
  • Sitting up all by her self
  • rolling around
  • Takes a bath like a big girl and not in the baby tub
  • Loves to eat rice cereal and baby fruits
  • Loves to stick anything and everything in her mouth
  • Throws fits when you take away what shes playing with and will not stop until you give it back.
  • Loves kids! (especially her cousins Natalie, Chandler and Brandon.)
  • Loves when I sing songs from The Little Mermaid
  • Loves her daddy
  • Loves when her grandma "accidentally" buys her things and has to keep it a secret from grandpa
  • Goes to bed at 7:30 every night and will usually sleep till around 6:30 in the morning, if she does wake up we just give her a binky and she falls back asleep. (Knock on wood.)

Anyways Here is a bunch of pictures of my cute girl!

Brooklyn Joy Johnston

Well once again, it has been a very long time, and a lot has happened since we last posted. I tried to teach Tara how to blog, but she forgot. So I am just going to update it and she can add stuff later when I teach her again.
Well a few months ago, we had a great new addition to our little family. On March 31st 2009, Brooklyn Joy Johnston was born.
The due date was March 30th and we went in for our Dr. appointment to see if she was ready. The Dr. told us that she was not ready at all and prob wouldn't be for a few days if not more. We were very discouraged and upset. By this point in pregnancy the woman is just ready to get this baby out of their belly. So we moped our way home and got ready for bed.
As I was sleeping, Tara woke me up saying that she thinks that she is having contractions. They were little and not very regular, so I said that its normal and to get some sleep. That was not the response she wanted, so we stayed up for a while and I timed the contractions, because its not serious until they are about every 5 min. At first they were about every 10 min. Slowly they got closer and closer together until they were about every 7 min, and we decided to pack up and get into the hospital. It was about a 20 min drive to the Ogden Regional Hospital. When we got there they checked us in, which even though we pre admitted about a month in advance, it still took them forever. They got us into a little tiny room and said the nurse will be in shortly to check her. The nurse came in and said that she is having pretty strong contractions, but she was only dilated to about a 1. She said that we are still going to be having our baby tonight. We were very excited. They moved us into this HUGE room and we set up camp. We went into the hospital at about 4:00 am. Our Dr. was just finishing another delivery and he came in and broke the water. Don't worry I wont get to into the details. :)
The stay there was great, I strongly suggest Ogden regional. We just watched movies and TV for a few hours. It came time for the epidural and we were very scared for that. For those that don't know Tara has Scoliosis and its pretty severe. So the Anesthesiologist came in and tried 3 times to get it. 3 different spots in her back were poked, none of them worked. I was hard watching her go through that pain. Occasionally they would hit her spine and it would make her leg fling up. So they called another Anesthesiologist came in and he tried twice. So on the 5th time it worked. Finally some relief from the pain of contractions.
After that it was smooth sailing. everything else went great. So we got there at 4 am, and Brooklyn was delivered at about 4:12 pm March 31st. 12 hours total. She was absolutely gorgeous.

Tara recovered really quick and went back to work about 4 weeks later. Currently I have only been working 3 days a week to watch Brooklyn. As of next week Tara gets the whole summer off and I will be going back full time at Sprint. We are so excited to be able to do some stuff this summer like camping, fishing, and hanging out with our friends Alex and Jenny Scothern, that are moving up to Logan very soon. If anyone else wants to move the the greatest part of Utah and hang out. Just let us know. :)

Baby Stuff!!

So on Friday Korry and I decided to go to Babies-R-Us and look at some cribs, I found one that I liked so much and was actually in stock that we decided to get it! A special thanks to his parents for driving to Ogden to haul it home for us because the box was so massive! Well even though we still have like 3 months left I just got so excited that we set it all up and put the bedding in it as well, now all we need is the baby to go in it. The swing on the lower left is the the swing that Korry surprised me with.

Our life up until Christmas day

Well our little journey so far for our baby has been wonderful. Our little baby girl is about 6 1/2 to 7 months along now. We are so excited to have a little baby girl. Her name is going to be Brooklyn Joy Johnston. The due date is set for March 30th. Everytime we go to the Doctor he tells us a different date. Last time we went he said it will probably be a little bit earlier.

Our Christmas was amazing. We got so much great stuff for us, as well as a lot for Brooklyn. We will try to post some pictures soon of all the different things we got.

Christmas day sure was one we will never forget. We went out to Tara's parents house for Christmas day. The weather was horrible. We decided to drive out to Bothwell anyways. It took a long time to get there and it was a pretty scary trip as well. The breakfast with her family was great. The food was great as well as the company. After some food and a little wii playing. Most of the family ventured home. We stayed there and played some games. Soon it was about 1 and we were basically snowed in. At about 130 the power went out completely. It was out for about 6 hours. It really made me realize how much I love electricity. We had a lot of fun though playing games and napping. We were all huddled around some propane heaters and lamps playing games. It was honestly a great Christmas to remember.

Leaving wasnt that great, We got stuck and it took along time to get out, but fortunately with the help of her brothers and dad and a friendly neighbor with a tractor, we made it home safe.

We have been so excited lately. I'm sure most that are following this blog already know that we are going to be having a baby in March. The due date is set for March 30th, But the baby is growing really well and it will probably be before then.

We went to the doctor a few weeks ago and he told us we are going to be having a baby girl. We are really excited, especially Tara, because that is what she wanted really bad. Also our neice natalie is really excited to have another girl in the family to play with.

This picture here to the left is a picture that is supposed to resemble what our girl is going to look like. I doubt its going to look exactly like this, because Im sure the hair will be a little more reddish, But we'll see. We arent exactly sure on the name yet. We know for sure the middle name will be Joy, being after my grandma. So far the name we like the most is Brooklyn Joy Johnston. But we are still open to sugjestions if there are any out there.

If this is a shock to you that we are going to be having a baby, then sorry. We haven't really told everyone publically. We are mostly just letting people find out. But we are so excited and open to any parenting advice as well.

Well we i'm not sure how many people are actually following our blog here, but there is a lot to say about us if you dont know us at all. Tara and I met just a few days after I got home from my mission, we have basically spent every day since then together hanging out. Although a lot of people did not agree and will not agree, we got married after 6 months of dating. We thoughtfully prayed about it and knew it was the right thing. We got married in the Bountiful Temple on Jan. 9th 2008. for our honeymoon we went to Jamaica on a cruise. It was amazing. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a vacation. Some of the photos in the video above are from that trip. We hope someday to be able to go on another cruise.
Currently we are both going to school. She is going in to dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education. I am going for Respiratory Therapy. She is working with the behavior unit at Adel C. Young Intermediate School and I am currently working for Sprint.
Well I guess thats all for right now. We have so much more to write, but That will be in a later blog.
